Insurance Problems!

I have dual insurance coverage through my work (Regence BCBS)and Landon's work (Kaiser Permanente). This is very exciting for us because we shouldn't have to pay anything throughout my whole pregnancy and delivery of Kendra. However, over the past few months my employer has had problems with Regence BCBS and they completely canceled our insurance out of nowhere. The Vancouver Clinic never checked to see if I still had coverage at my last appointment so it was never canceled. Our rep for Regence told us that they would jump back on the band wagon and fix everything including our lapse in coverage (6 months). Unfortunately this didn't happen and I have to depend on my employer to foot all of my doctors bills. So in the meantime, I have new individual coverage starting on July 1st so that I will still be able to see my regular midwife. It was very difficult to find a new plan that would take me due to my pregnancy but it has all seemed to work out so far. I really don't want to lose my midwife. So for me.... Dual coverage is the way to go.

Glucose Test-FAILED!

I went in for my 1hr glucose test for gestational diabetes and Failed. Aargh!  I will be going in soon for another test which takes 3hrs. I am not looking forward to it but we do what weve gotta do, right? I was only over by a few points so hopefully I won't have any more problems.

Nursery

So here is the nursery so far. As you can see Landon found some great carpet and installed it (very well I might add).  We also finally put up the vinyl decals that had been sitting around for a month. The decals were pretty easy to put up but we decided to stick the frames vertically instead of horizontally. We just thought it looked better. Her room is so flippin' tiny that I could only get pictures of one wall at a time plus I didn't want you to see the unfinished areas just yet. In reality the only thing that is missing from the picture is her glider rocker. What do you think? :)

26 Weeks Prenatal Visit

I had a very quick visit with the midwife today. She asked if there were any questions I had for her and how I was feeling. Of course there was nothing to say because I have been feeling great so the visit only lasted about 10 minutes. I gained quite a bit since the last visit with her (12lbs). I am up to 150lbs and she measured my uterus with a paper measure. Everything was right on track. She also gave me the drink to test for gestational diabetes.  She would like me to do it within the next couple weeks. I just have to drink it and have the lab draw my blood 1hr later. I didn't have any protein in my urine this time, Yay! I will have my next visit in a month and then we will have our visits every 2 weeks or so until the finale. I am starting to get ultra Excited.  Only 100 more days to go until my due date!

25 Weeks Belly Picture

Here It is in all of it's glory!
We went to an Il Divo opera concert last night and I think Kendra had a great time. Nothing better than a little sophistication before you are born. I went to about 5 different stores until I found a dress that fit me right (FYI: You can't go to the opera in a potato sack). My boobs are so big that the dresses that fit them are too large for the rest of my body. For the first time in my life I fit into an XL strapless bra. On the up side, once I found The dress, I felt beautiful. On another note, we should be looking into carpet for Kendra's room on Saturday so I will let you know if we find anything :)

24 Weeks Belly Picture

Eww, look at my a bad tan! Things have been going great otherwise. We just bought a new swimming pool and I think it was our best investment yet. Landon also put the Armoire for Kendra's room together. We are really getting somewhere now...almost 24 weeks.  I love you already Kendra!

Kendra's Nursery

One of the beautiful clients at my work "Megan-Katie's mom" gave me a beautiful dark walnut sleigh bed crib and mission style glider rocker for Kendra. I also picked out my crib set and some decals for her bedroom walls. Grandma just ordered a mission style dark walnut Armoire for her room too! I am so excited.  If we can just get some new carpet it will really feel like her room.
Here are the pics of Kendra's bedding set and wall decals. :)

I Love My Friends!

Thank goodness for great friends. All of my friends are so supportive and helpful and I feel like I could never make up for the wonderful companionship they give me. Landon and I just went through a huge garbage bag full of baby clothes that Jasmine gave us from when Krimsan was a baby. I am sure she has saved us hundreds of dollars. We are going to be set and Kendra is going to be the hippest little spoiled rotten brat that ever was!

20 Weeks Prenatal Visit

I had protein in my urine so I need to drink more water!!! I gained 3 lbs since my last prenatal visit so I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 138lbs. Kendra's heart beat was 147 beats per minute which was good. Everything went great and now I am going to purchase a prenatal yoga DVD and tour SW Washington's birthing center.

20 Weeks Ultrasound "It's a GIRL"!!!

We can't believe we are actually having a girl! The Ultrasound Technician was 90% sure and we saw the 3 female indicator dots. It took about 45 minutes for her just to open her legs! She was scrunched up into a tight fetal position most of the appointment. I had to drink more water and walk aroud jiggling my belly just to get her to move. Now we have to figure out a name for our little princess! She weighed 12 ounces and is about 6 inches long. The ultrasound tech gave me a new due date of September 18th. Pshhh, whatever! Grandma Katie and Nana Denise were with us and I got to tell Papa Randy over the phone! What an exhausting day! Yay!!!

17 Wks Baby Kicking

I have been feeling what I had thought was the baby moving for about 2 weeks now. Tonight confirmed it all together. Normally I feel these weird movements at night while on my laptop in bed. Today I had my hands on my tummy while I was just laying around and I got two right jabs to the palm. What a feeling. Now I just can't wait for Landon to feel it too! :::::Update::::: April 14, 2009 Landon felt the baby move for the first time tonight! It was so exciting! We will be 18 Weeks the day after tomorrow.

Holy Moly!!!

I had finished up my dinner at work today and went to go use the potty. I felt really bloated and decided to take a gander at my belly. You wouldn't believe what happened! My belly button has started poking out...Hehe, I absolutely love it and have been making everyone touch it. It doesn't feel weird or funny, I can barely even feel it being touched however, when you touch it, it is very soft and squishy. *Giggle

15 Weeks Prenatal Visit

I got to hear the babies heart again today. I could fall in love with that sound over and over again. I actually woke up this morning not feeling too bad. No vomiting for a change, Yay! Kate (My Midwife) told me the Morning sickness should be subsiding within the next couple weeks. I sure hope so, I had a small amount of protein in my urine so she made sure to get on me about drinking more water. Besides that we found out I have only lost 3 pounds since my pre pregnancy weight. Not as bad as I had thought. I weighed 135lbs today. When I was leaving Kate gave me a Lab request for the genetic blood draw. Pray for a negative results! I also ran over to Babies R Us with Holly today and found some pregnancy pops that are supposed to help with morning sickness. I figured I might as well give them a try.

***UPDATE***Our baby is negative for Down syndrome or Spinal Bifida, Yay!

11 Weeks "Heart Beat" Prenatal Visit

What an experience!!! I started crying! That is so not like me but I was so incredibly happy. It felt like our baby had three hundred million beats per second.  I was so love struck!  I met my Midwife, Kate Fields today and she was absolutely wonderful. We clicked right away and I am so thankful that I don't have to keep searching for someone. I am still sick off and on all day and zofran is still only working part time. I am on my 2nd refill now. Unfortunately I cannot keep my prenatal pills down so I am on Flintstones Chewable vitamins until I can stomach the prenatals again. Oh by the way, I weighed 136lbs today so I dropped in weight. :(
